At four regional conferences, the German Council of Experts in Health Care (SVR, on behalf of the Ministry of Health) presented its latest report on demand-oriented management of health care. At its northern conference in Hamburg‘s city hall at the end of October, HCHE’s scientific director Prof. Dr. Jonas Schreyögg presented approaches to solve the incentive policy in the German DRG system. Prior to this, SVR chairman Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gerlach gave a review of the current report. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Eberhard Wille spoke about integrated care at the outpatient-inpatient interface. The following discussion with health ministers Dr. Heiner Garg (Schleswig-Holstein), Harry Glawe (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) and Dr. Carola Reimann (Lower Saxony) as well as Hamburg‘s Senator of Health Cornelia Prüfer-Storcks focused on the topics of emergency care and basic case value.
