Techniker Krankenkasse and HCHE develop early warning system for drug and substance shortages

In future, an early warning system based on AI methods will provide information about impending shortages of active ingredients and medicines so that countermeasures can be initiated in time. As a learning system, it analyses patterns of past bottlenecks and applies them to current data such as stock levels or drug invoices. In addition, global, cross-sectoral indicators will be included.
