On ZDF, HCHE member Professor Iris Kesternich speaks about the challenges in the German healthcare system and takes a look at the Netherlands, where a higher degree of outpatient care, a GP-centred system and a great openness to innovation are leading to good results. As a health economist, she explains the cost increases of recent years and makes a recommendation for reforming the financing of care.
