
Study Health Economics: New Master’s programs at the University of Hamburg

An der Universität Hamburg beginnt erstmalig zum Wintersemester 2013/14 der neue Masterstudiengang Health Economics & Health Care Management.
Our students achieve methodological skills in a four semesters master’s program to choose afterwards one of two main study focuses in the field of health economics. The first study focus of Health Economics puts emphasis on the health care system from a macroeconomic perspective. It is designed especially for students who are interested in working in ministries, in the public administration, or in other organizations. The second study focus of Health Care Management was designed for students who are looking for job perspectives in hospitals, in health insurance organizations or corporate companies in the field of health economics. Both paths enable scientific career perspectives. Students achieve the degree of M. Sc. after two years of study.
The program is realized by the faculty of social economics (Fachbereich Sozialökonomie) of the University of Hamburg in cooperation with the Hamburg Center for Health Economics (HCHE). In addition to program development and to teaching, the HCHE enables cooperation and exchange with scientists, international research institutes, experts and professionals.
