Eleven members of the HCHE participated in this year's Health Economics Congress of the International Health Economics Association (IHEA) in Bali, Indonesia. The biennial conference is an important global forum for health economists to present the latest research findings and discuss methodological developments. The doctoral students who came from Hamburg, including five members of our DFG research training group, presented a wide range of research projects. Topics ranged from the impact of outpatient physician collaboration on the quality of chronic care to the effects of a coordinated care program on the healthcare costs of stroke patients to quality competition in statutory health insurance in Germany. Furthermore, the conference offered a valuable opportunity for international exchange and networking, among other things, to gaining new perspectives for future research.
