Why doesn’t the United States have national health insurance? The political role of the American Medical Association
Marcella Alsan, Professor of Economics at Stanford University and Director of the Health Inequality Lab, will visit Hamburg in October. The award-winning physician and economist will hold a seminar and present her latest study. The focus is on the political role of the American Medical Association in opposing the introduction of National Health Insurance in the post-war period. The seminar offers compelling insights into the origins of health inequalities and the power of political communication strategies.
